Dill Pickles

10 Cups Water
4 Cups Vinegar
1 Cup Ice Cream Salt

Mix and Boil - pour in jar full of:

1/2 tsp dill seed
1 or 2 bay leaves
1/2 of an onion cut into chunks (yes, that's the technical word)
1 or 2 cloves of garlic cut up some
Cucumbers cut however, I like spears

and you could put a hot pepper in there too, but I don't

Put a top and a ring on it and there you go the best dill pickles EVER!

Hey Elise! That looks fantastic, I've never made pickles. How long do you need to let them "pickle" for? Also, have you ever made bread and butter pickles? Would you just add sugar to the mix to make them?

We have a fire and ice pickle recipe in Kin Cookin' which is sweet and dill, and is yummy. Kind of a bread and butter pickle.
